Since quarantine, I've picked up cooking as a hobby. Back in April 2020, when I was browsing YouTube, I came upon this video by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt, where he made a French omelette in under two minutes. I was then inspired to try making one myself, and during my first attempt, I remember failing dramatically and making scrambled eggs instead. Since then, I like to think that I've been able to improve my cooking skills! Thanks to the help of YouTube, I've been able to learn how to cook so I won't have to rely on instant ramen when I go to college.
Here are some YouTubers I like to watch for inspiration:
Cacio e pepe: an Italian pasta with linguine, olive oil, red pepper flakes, and parmigiano reggiano
Cornstarch-battered fried chicken
Spaghetti Bolognese: My take on a non-traditional Italian ragù with parmigiano reggiano
Oven-baked russet potatoes
A matcha latte: art still a work in progress
